If someone on your list squints at the reef, takes their glasses off before every snorkel, or keeps saying “everything looks blurry down there,” you already know the perfect gift: clear vision underwater. A dive mask fitted with their own prescription changes the whole experience, from reading a dive computer to actually seeing the fish everyone else is pointing at.
Here is our holiday gift guide for divers, snorkelers and ocean-loving kids who wear glasses or contacts, with picks at every budget.
Why a prescription mask beats “making do”
A lot of people who wear glasses just dive or snorkel without correction, or squeeze contacts under a standard mask. Neither is great. Without correction, gauges, hand signals and marine life turn into a blur. A prescription mask puts the correction right on the mask, so the moment it goes on, the world underwater snaps into focus.

For the serious diver: a wide-view mask
Tusa Freedom HD
$115
A single-lens mask with an incredibly wide field of view, a 180° Rotational Buckle System that fits a variety of face sizes, and a large frame with minimal internal volume.
For the underwater photographer
XS Foto GoMask Panorama
$79
Panoramic three-window design with a 3-prong mount for a GoPro HERO underwater housing and Everclear glass lenses. Stock is limited.
Pair it with a GoPro and they will finally come home with sharp footage, because they could actually see what they were filming.
For the kids (and small adults)
XS Scuba Fusion Jr.
$70
Sized for small adults and kids 6 to 8. (The “XS” is the manufacturer, not the size.)
Kids who wear glasses often lose interest in snorkeling simply because they can’t see anything. A mask that fits a smaller face and carries their prescription can turn a bored kid into a reef explorer.
Stocking stuffers under $15
Frog Spit Mask Defogger
$7.95
Long-lasting anti-fog that works without rinsing. One drop spread around the lens is all you need, in hot or cold weather.
Mask Keeper
$14
Silicone keeper that protects an expensive mask and camera from loss. Fits any mask strap 1.25″ wide or less, in five bright colors.

Any amount
Let them pick the mask and lenses that fit their face and prescription.
A prescription mask is personal: face shape, fit and the prescription itself all matter. If you don’t have their current prescription, a gift card is the safest bet.
Gift-giving checklist
- Do they wear glasses or contacts? If yes, a prescription mask is the upgrade they’ll notice most.
- Check face size: kids and smaller faces usually need a junior or low-volume mask.
- Do they shoot video? Look for a mask with a camera mount.
- Have their current prescription (and PD) handy. Our post on how to get your PD helps.
- Add anti-fog and a mask keeper. They are cheap and they get used on every dive.
- When in doubt, go with a gift card.
