Our History
Owner: Linda Young
As a longtime diver and optician; Curt Walker started Prescription Dive Masks in 1980 with the belief that no one should be denied the beauty of the underwater world because of poor vision.
When he sold the company to his longtime friend, optician Linda Young, she kept the same ideals. Linda has been working in the field of optics since 1983, and has been an avid diver since 1996.
We still make each pair of lenses and chemically bond them into your mask by hand, believing that there is no better quality control than an employee who truly cares about what he/she does.
We are here to help you see the vast blue world safely, comfortably, clearly, and always with love.
Charities we help:
Wounded Warriors, California Ships to Reefs, Ship to Reefs International, Our world Underwater Scholarship Society, Beneath the Sea, Susan G Komen Race for the Cure, Lions Club International, Undersea Pals, Dive Industry Foundation.
Organizations we belong to:
Dive Equipment Marketers Association, Dive Industry Association, American Board of Opticianry, Lions Club International.
We love the Earth:
We reuse as much packing material as we can. This includes boxes, bubble wrap, foam and Styrofoam peanuts. We also use low energy light bulbs in our laboratory wherever possible. Most of us also walk or bike to work every day.
